#Dark shadow. 1st review im going to do is neon genesis evangelion the original series as it has been a favorite anime of mine for about 10years now. not the rebuilds or 2 movies the directly proceed the series. waring this may have spoilers in it so if you havent seen the show and want to watch it before you read this the main character of the show is Shinji the show focuses mainly around him and how he develops and why he is so important. for the most part he is a broken boy after losing his mother at an early age and a father that is well basically more of a strangers to him than any other character in the show. For the most part he dose not a very strong personality and is pushed in to doing most things. how ever when forced his real personality comes out and as in most show the protagonist saves the day yay. His personality is put to the test when he finds out that last angle (spoilers) is a friend and he has to decide to kill him or let humanity as they know it destroyed. the show has a lot of deep and at times hard to understand themes. the show dose have some amazing fight between the evas (giant bionic robots) and angles (giant monsters) the hole premise of the story is that the angles are trying to connect with adam (the 1st angle) to basically hit the rest bottom and start creation again. while the whole evas fighting angles is going on there is alot of character development going on and it very clear whats happening to the characters even if the over story line is a hard to understand which i liked helps keep you interested. now for the ending the company must of ran out money and just it sorta ended after all the angles have been beaten there wasnt a big finish to the story. But if you remember i did say there was 2 movies which are made to finish of the story line of the show. this was just a quick outline of the show it is a really in depth show and you have to watch a couple of times to understand it all. I do like how the show leaves you thinking where do we come from, are we just evolved from angles what created the angles what are the angles what made us, where did we come from? I really like show and movies the ask these questions. i give it a 7/10 because it is an amazing show but dose not have a big finish like other anime i have seen. how ever if you include the 2 movies i give it a 9/10. i will do a review on the 2 movies soon and once i have seen all 4 OVAs or rebuilds I will do them as well.
