Ms. Merkel delivered a speech to students at the university largely focusing on #sustainable #development. In her remarks, she urged the next generation of leaders to look at #Germany’s example in harnessing renewable energy. The two leaders had an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations as well as international and regional issues of common interest. President Xi Jinping said that a series of major business deals signed between the two countries during the chancellor’s visit would definitely push forward #China-Germany relations. Chancellor Merkel expressed her hope that Germany and China could deepen bilateral dialogue and discover new areas of cooperation through governmental consultations. She also mentioned her personal appreciation for China’s support during the European debt crisis.
