Dateline was Saturday, 112th April, 2014. The All Peoples Congress State Primaries was the event, at the Mandela Freedom Park in Osogbo, State of Osun, where the party members voted in their choice candidate who will be the partys flag-bearer in the forth coming Governorship elections. The crowd convergence was massive! Intimidating and overwhelming! Party faithfuls trooped into the park in droves exhibiting the zeal and passion for their choice candidate who was no other person than Oranmiyan himself! Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, the incumbent Governor of Osun. According to Mallam Naseer El-Rufai who was the Chairman of the National Electoral Committee that was sent to conduct and oversee the primaries, he stated that, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola won the primaries with more than 2/3 of the total party members votes cast in his favor which made him the unanimous candidate of party members. He therefore announced Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola as the candidate that has been chosen by party members in the State of Osun as the partys flag bearer in the elections come August 2014. On announcing the winner, the massive crowd of party faithfuls were wild with joy and jubilation a. And it was with much elation and profuse gratitude to Almighty Allah that the lucky man, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola took to the microphone to thank his wonderful and teeming supporters. A Yoruba adage says and I quote, Ti eru ba mo inu ro, o ye ko mo ope da Governor Aregbesola exhibited his joy and gratitude with singing and dancing, and boy! The man is a damn good dancer and composer! He thanked virtually all bodies and every member that made the primaries a success and made promises of fulfilling his avowed pledge of upgrading Osun into a mega city.. Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola is one Governor who really is in tune and close affinity with his citizens, that much was evident in the way he was calling out to them and they were responding to all his calls. The rapport is so much that, he is very free with his people and they in turn shower him with love and affection.. The primaries was a resounding success and hitch free of any eventful stances.
