Dave left Herceg Novi this morning... Its been a busy few weeks, and I havent had a chance to make any substantial updates. Its important to note that we made it to Sarajevo together, and successfully conducted another direct action, delivering aid to flood victims in Doboj, with the help of Olivera Đeorđić Nedić and her amazing friend Irena and Irenas wonderful mom, teta Beka, whose spirit and hospitality we wont soon forget. In Maglaj, we met with a lovely and dedicated local teacher and activist Mirza Spahic, who helped us find a home for the remaining packages we had put together. His village lost 15 homes in the landslides, and the rest have had up to 3 meters of flooding and devastating damage. On the night we drove back to Herceg Novi, there were new rainstorms and repeated flooding to a lot of the same regions already affected, in both Bosnia and Serbia. Help will be needed for a long time to come. I will be updating you on the situation in the coming weeks, and as I return to Toronto. Thank you ALL again for your support, I know it might sound cliche, but truly, without you none of this would be possible. I would especially like to thank Anmarie Csercsa, Trevor Black, Aleksandra Zirojevic, Sandra Miljanovic, Nathalie Vachon, Ross Lynde, Kevin Wright, Ruston Baldwin, Čika Branko, and of course, Tangi Ropars with the Lemon Bucket Orchestra, and anyone else I might be forgetting at the moment (sorry!!) who came through with generous donations above and beyond the June benefit concert attendance (which I have already written about extensively :)) Anyway - I will be writing a more detailed report once I return, until then, thanks again, and I truly hope to keep this thing going! Love to all
