Dave’s last trick….. It’s time to go with the flow. It’s - TopicsExpress

Dave’s last trick….. It’s time to go with the flow. It’s time to be prepared for everything Dave said. I have no patience for this. This was the last we heard from him as he jumped off the airplane into the void. We all gathered around the door as he flew and waived us goodbye. Dave was an escapist and a magician; he was always designing a trick and new escape. The last one had been escaping out of a solid ice block that was hanging 60 feet from a crane while men where cutting though the chain. This was his life, always putting his merciless soul in danger. But that is how it had to be; life was pointless if one could not expose it to the limits he would always say. He loved to surprise the audience and as the ice block collided into the pavement and exploded into tiny pieces Dave walked into the scene smiling and drinking a hot espresso with this the crowd would go crazy. Yes, he did it again! As the Dave was falling we all looked mesmerized at the screen, Dave had a camera on his helmet and we could see how fast he was falling. Now we all thought that this trick had gone way too far. He was tied up with chains and straps, and his hands were bound together with two pairs of handcuffs. How on Earth could he free himself from all this? Well, there is one thing that Dave had and that were amazingly fast and nimble hands. People believed he could do anything with them, they even thought he could by some means separate them from his body so he could be able to do what he did so well: Escape from anything. The ground was inching its way very fast and the terrain Dave had chosen for this trick was the mouth of the Kilauea volcano. One of the most active volcanoes in Hawaii, his fall over its red mouth was an epic scene. He believed in exposing his senses all the time, the escape had to be colorful, full of intensity, he loved the fact that if the escape failed he would he would become one with it all. Times was going fast and slow, too fast for Dave and slow for all of us who were waiting impatiently to see that parachute open. What a paradox... The camera gave us quick views of all what was going on, twirls and swirls, wind, sunshine and blue sky, and a red volcano mouth. And then just like that the timer went off indicating Dave had reached the point of no return. We all cringed in our seats as his body plunged into the volcano’s mouth. Had Kilauea received an involuntary human sacrifice? It seemed that Dave had disappeared and we turned our heads to look into the screen to verify it and what do we see? Dave’s smiling face one hand waving at us and in the other one a hot espresso. He had done it again. César Morán - Cesar Moran Cahusac
