David Michael Bauer, 70, of Bentonville, Arkansas died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers, Arkansas. He was born March 29, 1943 in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Virginia Kemp and James Bauer. He retired after 22 years of service with the United States Navy. He was vice-president of Jolly Rogers Good Sam’s Camping Club. He loved spending time in the outdoors, fishing and boating, and loved traveling. He had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area for over 26 years after moving around the world with the Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Skip Bauer and Jon Bauer. David is survived by his wife, Carla Bauer, of Bentonville, whom he married May 26, 1962; one son, Wayne A. Bauer and his wife, Deborah, of Seligman, Missouri; one daughter, Dian Haines and her husband, Dwayne, of Wisconsin; three sisters, Pam Pinson of Alabama, Fay Self of Neosho, Missouri, and Susan Tevevaugh and her husband, Dwayne, of Springdale; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, June 7, 2013 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Epting Funeral Home of Bentonville. Graveside service will be Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Washburn Prairie Cemetery in Washburn, Missouri. Memorials may be sent to The American Cancer Society.
