Dax Ryan Locke, who was 2 years old passed away after an 18-month battle with acute myeloid leukemia at 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born June 26, 2007, at Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Ill., he was the only son of Austin and Julie Lemkemann Locke. They survive, as well as many other family members who loved him dearly. Dax, who was a very happy little boy even in his illness, spent his first year of life at home. The remainder of his life was spent at the in Memphis and the OSF affiliate in Peoria, where he was loved and cared for by the nurses, doctors and other staff.
