Day 1 - Tour de Cures State Of Origin Tour From: Tweed Heads >> Boonah Distance/Elevation: 135km/1835m We set off bright and early at 0600 this morning, off to Boonah. Stopping along the way to a few primary schools to share Tour de Cures BE FIT, BE HEALTHY, BE HAPPY, cancer awareness message. Which was quite the experience! Riding into a school with >100 kids who think you are a rock star is pretty awesome! A lot of fun though! We cycled into Boonah this afternoon, and what a relief after riding in >27 degree heat. I learnt my lesson and am applying sun screen. But I still got a bit burnt. Forgot to fill up my bottles as we left one of the schools, so felt myself starting to fade. A massive kudos to Alex Malone for grabbing my bottle, taking it to the support car for a re-fill. Youre a champ. This evening we enjoyed another great meal from the Canadian Kitchen, at Dick and Lynns farm. Such a beautiful part of the world. Tomorrow is climbing day. So I will be on struggle street, I assure you!
