Day 1 in the books. Interesting cast of characters in class, but having more control over the subject material and taking a very different approach to teaching social studies than the old school method should be helpful. My SPL is going to be a work in progress, I want to do a research techniques based class since is as told that I didnt really have to teach math as was typical (thankfully). Im going to see what I can make the class become. Set a good foundation, I believe, with 95% of students, so hopefully something good comes out of this and I dont freak out by week 2. We are going to be using a very discussion and activity based class, using power points as supplemental information and are going to be heavily diving into documents and will be doing some research. I dont think some of these kids are ready for the amount of work we are going to do, but the type of work I believe will be far more intriguing to them. Here is to hoping.
