Day 10 of our trip started with another walk up, up, up through - TopicsExpress

Day 10 of our trip started with another walk up, up, up through the vineyards in the sky in Luxembourg. It is truly amazing how high and in all directions they plant the vines here. It must be a late harvest this year because we ran across a group in the vineyards still picking grapes. The old man with his weathered face touched my heart. As did the cemetery we found on our way back down the hillside. We first encountered plants, bulbs and even trees being planted at gravesites when we visited Norway years ago. I was touched to find that same tradition here in Luxembourg. Would love it if we had that tradition in the states as I would plant an all season garden at my mother, father and little sisters graves. I cried a tear at the grave with a fresh rose laying across it. I noticed the 2014 date of death and couldnt help but wonder if a fresh rose has been laid there everyday since. A school building was not far away with the coolest architecture. Then we were off for a day trip to the French countryside. We happened upon a beautiful little restaurant...never ceases to amaze me how the French can present a meal...or oddly how at home I feel when I visit France. It must be because I married a Frenchman. We walked through a beautiful little park and admired the late season flowers and fall colors. It started to rain so we headed back to our little inn, after stopping at a winery of course, and just sat and enjoyed the vineyards up the hill out back. We ended the night with a light dinner and were amazed at the little well-mannered dog at a table near us...something you just dont see in the states. Loved our time in Luxembourg, Germany and France. Back to Belgium for one more day tomorrow before heading home....good night! Go Cardinals!!
