Day 100 of my #Bizs100happydays was actually on Saturday, so I have officially completed it! This challenge came at one of the most challenging times in my life, and Im so glad to have undertaken it. Looking back at the past 100 days, I have started my career, moved, and had a number of new and exciting experiences, but I have also worked long days (and weeks), slept on couches, dealt with discouragement and anxiety, and taken risks in both my personal and professional life. While I generally am a positive person anyway, 100happydays challenged me to look for the opportunities rather than the fear in change, and to appreciate every moment as a chance to make a positive impact, in my own life and in the lives of others. While I am glad to have had this reminder over the past 100 days, I also am glad that its over. As I have thought back through these few months, I realized that, while on some days I really needed the incentive to find happiness, on others, looking for one photographable moment actually hindered my ability to see the simple joys that I appreciate, whether it is making faces at a baby on the subway, or getting a text from a friend I havent talked to in a while. Most importantly, and I promise this is almost over, I reaffirmed what consistently makes me happy - overwhelmingly, it was the people in my life that have really seen me through these hard times. So I am so so grateful to anyone over the last 100 days (and before, but Im trying to stick to a theme here) who has put me up, eaten what Ive cooked, given me networking contacts, grabbed a beer or gone for a run, or even simply picked up the phone or believed in me from afar. Your efforts, on every scale, have made a huge difference in my past 3 months, and in my life up until this point, and words cannot express how HAPPY I am to call you friends and family.
