Day 11. Praying and fasting 2014 Prayer Be quick to recognize and take advantage of the special moments of destiny. Genesis 18: 1-14; 40: 3-7 PONDER ON THESE THOUGHTS Genesis 18:1-14 1 Then the Lord appeared to him by the terebinth trees of Mamre, as he was sitting in the tent door in the heat of the day. 2 So he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing by him; and when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to the ground, 3 and said, “My Lord, if I have now found favor in Your sight, do not pass on by Your servant. 4 Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree. 5 And I will bring a morsel of bread, that you may refresh your hearts. After that you may pass by, inasmuch as you have come to your servant.” They said, “ Do as you have said.” 6 So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah and said, “ Quickly, make ready three measures of fine meal; knead it and make cakes.” 7 And Abraham ran to the herd, took a tender and good calf, gave it to a young man, and he hastened to prepare it. 8 So he took butter and milk and the calf which he had prepared, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree as they ate. 9 Then they said to him, “ Where is Sarah your wife?” So he said, “ Here, in the tent.” 10 And He said, “I will certainly return to you according to the time of life, and behold, Sarah your wife shall have a son.” (Sarah was listening in the tent door which was behind him.) 11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age; and Sarah had passed the age of childbearing. 12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “ After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?” 13 And the Lord said to Abraham, “ Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I surely bear a child, since I am old? ’ 14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.” Genesis 40:3-7 So he put them in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, in the prison, the place where Joseph was confined. And the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he served them; so they were in custody for a while. Then the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, who were confined in the prison, had a dream, both of them, each man s dream in one night and each man s dream with its own interpretation. And Joseph came in to them in the morning and looked at them, and saw that they were sad. So he asked Pharaohs officers who were with him in the custody of his lords house, saying, “Why do you look so sad today?” Be quick to notice the changes taking place around your sphere of influence. Many of such changes are destiny moments in disguise. These special moments of destiny, will place a demand on to be a blessing . Take an action that will positively impact the life of another person. Furthermore, such moments require wise initiatives, they act as the catalyst that ignite a series of swift changes in your favour. These changes facilitate your movement to the next level, in your walk of destiny. Abraham was quick to discern something extraordinary about the three men that visited in him. It was destiny moment in disguise. Quickly he seized the special moment, by taking the initiative to give the strangers an extraordinary hospitality. Abraham killed a young cow for the three visitors. Moreover he served the food to the strangers himself. Abraham had several servants that could have been assigned to serve the visitors. After the special treatment, the visitors revealed their true identity. Interestingly, the Lord was one of the visitors. That meeting became a turning point in the life of Abraham. He received a prophetic word from God, that brought about the birth of Isaac. Joseph was confined in a dungeon, but he was very observant. He never allowed his confinement to become his focus. Rather Joseph focused on observing the change in the countenance of the new prisoners. This stirred up compassion in him, to help these men. Consequently, the anointing to interprete dreams was released into the heart of Joseph. Later on, one of the prisoners was the one that spoke about Joseph to Pharoah. It is important to note that, the day Pharaohs butler and baker were brought into the prison, an invitation to see Pharaohs palace was also presented to Joseph in disguise. Josephs desire to a blessing, in spite of his imprisonment gave him access to Pharaoahs palace. More importantly, special destiny moments provide access to peculiar opportunities, People, information and places to facilitate your promotion. The Shunamite woman in 2 Kings 4:8-17, was able to discern the call to be blessing to Elisha. Consequently, the story of her life changed from barrenness to becoming a joyful mother of a baby boy. The opportunities to impact the lives of others abound every where. You have to look beyond your immediate needs to see them. Beloved, do not become so engrossed with your challenge and the restrictions it places on you, such that you shut down your bowels of compassion. The flow of compassion is necessary for the release of the anointing that is already in you (see 1 John 2:27). This was the same pattern with Jesus ( see Matthew 14:14). The anointing is required to maximize destiny moments. The devils agenda is to distract you, by making you concentrate on the your current challenge. And consequently make you shut your heart and eyes to the changes happening around you. Be observant of the needs of others around you.Particularly the ones that challenge your abilities. Meeting those needs could be your invitation to Pharaohs palace. Do not ignore those precious destiny moments. ============================================== From the brook church
