Day 11, Varanasi ,, Up at 545 , we all over slept, suppose to be at door at 545, got ready very quickly, and went to boat, to have rower, row us up and down the river,at sunrise. The city is coming awake again, the sounds of people moving, working, bells ringing for prayer, and the smells, burning wood, spices from cooking,and the fresh breeze, mixed with fumes from the boats. The people here are warm and friendly, and try to keep their areas clean by sweeping and rinsing with water, they pile the garbage in the corner, no place to remove it, its not their fault, they do the best they can. At the burning gats we see a babys body floating by a boat, the guide tells us they do not burn children under 10, pregnant women, cobra bites.. Cont later
