Day 11 of the 2014 IIHF Mens World Championships is complete. Here is what happened today in Minsk. A goal scored with three seconds remaining in the second period was the game winner as Finland eked past Kazakhstan 4-3; Fyodor Polischuk had a goal and an assist and Vadim Krasnoslobodtsev had a pair of helpers for the Kazakhs while Olli Jokinen and Jori Lehterä had a goal and an assist each for the Finns. Four goals in almost exactly six minutes was part of a fantastic final frame as France defeated Denmark 6-2; Kim Staal had a goal and an assist and Simon Nielsen made 23 saves for the Danes while Antoine Roussel had a goal and three assists and Stephane Da Costa scored twice with two helpers for the French. Controversial officiating was abundant with a 3:1 penalty minute ratio but, in the end, the host Belarus beat Latvia 3-1; Arturs Kulda had a goal and Edgars Masalskis made thirteen saves for the Latvians while Geoff Platt and Sergei Kostitsyn had goals for the Belarusians. Another great goaltending performance was overshadowed by offensive brilliance as Sweden won against Italy 5-1; Daniel Bellissimo made 35 saves and Joachim Ramoser was player of the game for the Italians while Gustav Nyquist had two goals and Linus Klasen tallied four assists for the Swedes.
