Day #15 My Dad is a Hero. Living in Salt Lake, I barely saw my dad. He worked for the Salt Lake County Sheriffs Dept and at night he worked for Delta Airlines unloading luggage. I remember waking him up when he slept. Later in his career, my dad got shot on the job and he almost lost his life on duty protecting his family. He went to the desk life and later retired as a LT. My father left the church for some time but he always supported my decision to go when I wanted to go. When I joined the Marine Corps in 2003, I barely talked to my dad and now I talk to him about every week. One night, my dad heard that I returned to church and that I was en-route to the temple for endowments. My Dad called me and it was the 1st time my Dad has spoke to me in a long time and it was one of the only times I have heard my father cry with joy over the phone. He said,I heard you went back to church, so did I. Im proud of you. It took him 18 yrs to go back and it took me 9 and now every Wednesday in the Idaho Idaho Falls Temple, my dad serves the Lord in White. I love you Dad. You taught me to be a Father. Welcome Back. The church is True. Always Serving my Family,
