Day 18: Hattah-Kulkyne NP to Robinvale, 65 km. Our journey through the NP kept us close to the river with an abundance of kangaroos & emus. No photos though, we seem to startle each other & theyre off by the time I get the camera out. Passed the biggest house ever on a property, a carrot tycoon. Must be money in carrots. The perfume from the citrus & almond trees is overpoweringly pungent. Called into the Wemmen store & the owner recognised us from 2 years ago. Either we have distinguishing features or she doesnt get many customers. Pulled into Robinvale at 1.30pm. The town is an eclectic mix of farmers & people from Vietnam & Tonga. Great Asian supermarket. kk remains in Mildura & has unfinished business at a few cafés when she recovers. Probably looking at either Swan Hill or Echuca depending when she is cycle fit again. The Wemmen store, the biggest windmill ever (built in 1948, 60ft high, 30ft diameter. Used to supply Robinvale with water) & another sunset on the river.
