Day 2 Athina day trip to the Aegina island So happy, I heard from Maria and Moonlight today. I hope they stopped by to get the gifts I left in Antalya. After breakfast I set out to find Victoria metro station. It was easy enough got the ticket and took the train to Piraeus the last stop. I got my confidence back after losing my way in Antalya. As soon as I got out I saw the ocean. I decided to go up the escalator onto the bridge to cross the busy road and to get a good view of the area. It also helped me to figure out the entry to the port and where to but the ticket without asking anyone. People here are not helpful and dont seem to want to talk, then there are the many that dont speaka da English (: I got my ticket but I had to contact Roza to book nails for tomorrow instead as I cant do both. Anyway I plan a restful pamper day tomorrow. I hope to go to the Hamam and then nails etc so I am rested for Friday. I cant believe its almost Friday already. I waited in the air conditioned office until 12:00 departure. It was the best thing being out at sea on such a roasting hot day, I slept most of the journey, the cool sea breeze was wonderful. We arrived at Aegina 1:1/2 hrs later. It is a pretty island with lots of narrow roads and shops selling Bach wear etc. finally I decided to but a sun hat. I should have done so weeks ago. I am sure I will need it sitting in Olympic stadium in this fierce sunshine. I passed it on the way to the port. It is a huge place, made me think how many Witnesses it will take to clean that place to our standard. I wandered around the streets looking for souvenirs, my face is dripping. Everywhere the people are zipping past on motor cycles, the roads are so narrow I had to get out the way and the cars ate zooming so fast, youd think they would exercise more care. I think its siesta time some shops have closed. After I had my fill I decided I needed a nice restaurant with air con, a sea view where I can have lunch/ dinner and relax until the 17:40 ferry. I walked right down the beach front and finally settled on a restaurant. I almost got drawn into the one next door but when he showed me the menu with English dishes and meat, I declined. As I walked off the lady next door asked me into her restaurant. Her menu was more to my taste. She is a kind and hospitable lady. Really made me feel welcome. As soon as I got my iPad out she came and gave me the wifi code. I didnt expect that. The meal was too enormous. I ate the fish and half of salad never expected French fries. I feel terrible wasting food like this. I decided to have a glass of wine, very nice it is. So I am going to crash here for the next hour and a half. I hope to go shopping when I get back. Still so disappointed with these baggy trousers. Just a tiny bit of cheese and I got an uncomfortable bloated stomach. Will I learn stop trying to show willing and attempt a sample as I pay for it.
