Day 2 positivity challenge: Another easy one. 1. Woke up early and pulled my pork. Its now soaking in its juices in the fridge and smells gorgeous. As it lay there in the tray looking all delicious and porky it took me back 25 years to the old hot pork sandwich shop in Dudley, run by a tiny old lady in a jet black beehive wig and too much orange makeup. Thick white bread, dripping, stuffing, hot pork, mustard and apple sauce, dished up by what looked like a satsuma in a busby. And a bit of crackling on the side. 2. Its Friday, its payday, and today is charity bake sale day in the work canteen so there will be loads of lovely cakes. The air conditioning in the office has broken so theyve brought in loads of electric fans. It feels like were in a 1970s American cop show. I want a green visor and some of those sleeve suspender things, and some bad tasting coffee in a beige plastic cup. Its only a matter of time before someone lights up a cigarette and throws their shoulder holster on the desk. Also, I finish early today and then Im not back in for a week. Admittedly, I finish early every Friday, but it still cheers me up every time. 3. Im still only 46 years old. By my calculations that means Im still in my early to mid forties...
