Day 20 - Summer crops going very well in my beloved backyard veggie patch. The seedlings I purchased from Janis Tate at Fish No Chips Nursery at Wedgefield are going very well. That is the gourmet lettuce, watermelons, kale and sweet corn. The watermelons are just getting ready to start to run which is great. The Seven Year Highworth Beans are doing well. They turn and close their leaves during the heat of the day which is an amazing survival mechanism. The Crowdu Butter Pea which originated originally in Southern Florida is doing very well and coming into their own. Hoping tomorrow to finish off the pea straw laying and put in place the climbing trellis for the beans and butter peas. Hows everything in your backyard going?
