Day 20, evening update: Todays cease fire has made possible to reach some of the most affected quarters of Gaza. The destruction is beyond words. Whole quarters are completly in ruins. Dead people everywhere, some still underneath the destroyed houses. Many people still missing, their bodys could not be found yet. People have started to bury the dead in the open space between ruins. Large parts of Gaza are completely destroyed. All this just within 3 weeks of war. The recent numbers: Over 1000 palestinians dead, 2/3 of them civilians. 6000 wounded, many of them in a critical state. 40 Israeli soldiers died. To make things worse, Hamas started to fire rockets again. Facing this immense destruction, the incredibly trauma it has caused so far, the psychological effects it has on the people in Gaza and Israel... We need to ask ourselves: How can we build peace afterwards? How can we overcome this trauma? This immense pain? How can we heal this? This war is destructive beyond words. It makes zero sense, its simply a violent bloodshed. And all for nothing. War is never the solution. Its the problem! Joujou
