Day #21---Meditation from pChris... Romans 12:12 “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” (NIV) I think I understand why one should be joyful in hope and I can comprehend the necessity to be faithful in prayer however I always struggle with patience especially when I am afflicted. Just the other evening at the drive thru it took what seemed an inordinate amount of time to receive my grape slushy and in the waiting I was afflicted! Of course when the apostle Paul wrote these words I am sure he had something with more depth in mind than waiting for a slushy at a drive thru, but regardless of the cultural context he was consistent and concerned about how people, especially believers, treated each other. In fact just a few sentences before he pleads for people to be devoted to each other and practice hospitality at every opportunity. To do this truly does take patience especially when we have to put our own desires on hold for a little while! In His Shadow pC
