Day 23: Today I had a heartwarming experience with a dear friend who in spite of our differences in faith managed to still portray a perfect example to all Zamboangueños. Seeing what she is doing despite our differences in faith inspired me and humbled me. The Zamboanga tragedy is one that should unite us all Zamboangueños regardless of our faith. Let us remind ourselves that this war is not about our religion. Yes I agree, that the Quran, like our Bible does not inspire Muslims to hate other people. It teaches us to LOVE our neighbors. It teaches us PEACE. Islam is not the reason for the MNLF’s woes! It was their greed for power and leadership, just like what our own Christian politicians are doing! So if we choose to be discriminating, why not think to RESPECT! We pray for PEACE to reign in Zamboanga……
