Day 27 All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me, therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that I’ve commanded, and I will be with you always even to the end of the age. - Jesus The beautiful closing promise to the great commission is that as we go and make disciples…JESUS IS WITH US. The book of Matthew opens with the birth of Jesus as the one who will be called “Emmanuel – God with us.” And now the book closes with the promise that Jesus is still with us and always will be. The essence of Christianity is that God and man have been united again through Jesus. And what have we been united for…to make other disciples of Jesus so that they too can enjoy “God with us.” Know as we take bold steps to make disciples…Jesus is with us. And that is enough. Father God, it is enough for me to have you in my life. As the song goes “You are more than enough.” Help us to soak up all that you are so that we cannot help but let others know about the wonderful God that you are, the God who is with us in every valley and every mountain top. Help us to enjoy our relationship with you Jesus in song, word, deed, prayer and even silence. May we walk with you and help others to do the same. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
