Day 27 out of Kenai: We took a train ride from Williams, AZ to the Grand Canyon, South Rim. The train ride was very entertaining. It started off with a cowboy skit in the coral. Then on the train ride we had a Navaho singer, a fiddle player, and train robbers. The view of the Grand Canyon was amazing, but shortly after we arrived at the Grand Canyon, it started pouring rain. We waited it out under cover, then darted out for some more pictures of a different area before the rain could catch us again. We made a side trip to the Shrine of the Ages to take a picture of the Memorial set up for an airplane crash between two airlines in 1956. Gay Hagedon’s father was one of the victim of the crash and she had never seen the monument so she asked if we could take some pictures of it for her. We saw our first elk on the shuttle while going to the memorial. It had a huge rack, but we couldn’t get pictures since the shuttle went by like nothing was there.
