Day 2—Love 1 John 4:7-21 Suggestions for Intercessory Prayer Feel free to claim other promises as well. Remember, all of God’s biddings are His enablings! Praise God for His unconditional love. We love Him because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19 Pray that God will give you love in your heart for the lost. Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another. Rom. 12:9, 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4:10, 11 Pray that God will give you love for your enemies and for those who are persecuting you. Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Rom. 12:17-21 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. Matt. 5:44 Pray for God’s love to be perfected in His church. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. Col. 3:14 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. Phil. 1:9-11 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. 1 John 4:12 Pray that your life and your church will demonstrate God’s love to all those around you. Let all that you do be done with love. 1 Cor. 16:14 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. 1 Cor. 13:4-8 Pray that nothing will separate us from the love of Christ. Ask God to show you those things that are separating you from Him, and surrender those things to God.
