Day 3 in Bongland ( read Kolkatta): impressions so far: 1.Everybody seems to speak with marbles in their mouth. Bonglese goes over my head. Hindi with bonglese accent is even more indecipherable!!! 2. Surprisingly, traffic seems regulated( compared to delhi and lucknow). People actually stop and wait at signals...even late night when no cops around!!! Seems to be less traffic ( again compared to delhi)..but maybe it may be my impression because i prowl around after 8 pm and bhadralok seem to turn in early 4.One ways!!!! All roads seem to be one way directions. I don’t seem to return the way I had gone previously. ...instead either i end up driving wrong way...or get lost trying to figure out the right way. 5. Is it my impression or is kolkatta really neater and cleaner than 04 years back? 6. Good street lighting . really impressive in night time 7. Seems safer for women. I see single ladies or in groups going around even late night.
