Day 37 yall. We paddled about 40 miles today from 8am until around 330. It was chilly weather on the river with a shining sun. We heard on the radio that there is a frost warning for tonight. We are layering up for sleep now. It was just us and the barges today with one exception- a nice yacht. those swanky chumps cruised by fast leaving us wondering what was behind those tinted windows. We paddled by a grey bobcat today as it came to the rivers edge to drink water. Our site tonight is five miles from the confluence of the Ohio and Mississippi rivers. At that point the lower mississippi begins. We have finished 855 miles on the maps of the upper river and we will be starting the next 850 to New Orleans tomorrow.
