Day 4 , Tuesday , Bebe road trip , and lots of passes under the belt , we followed the advice of the passes and ports book and went back to Calitzdorp along the concrete road , and then onto the Groenfontein road to kruisrivier . A real gem of a road the runs east east under the foot of the Swartberg along the nel river , must come back ! Then we tackled the Swartberg Pass with a little rain and with 30 minutes where at the Summit looking over the Klein Karoo . Really impressive views and vistas and lots of big drop offs next to the hilux ! Next a short way on was the turnoff to Die Hell and what promised to be a long and windy 50 km in over 2 hours heading west back further than Calitzdorp , but across the spine if the Swartberg to a valley called Die Hell situated on the top but between two sets of fold mountain . The last stretch was a real trickery descent into the valley . The gps said 5 km , and it was all down !! Zig zagging al the way to the valley floor . Not a single car seen over the whole journey . We drove to the end of the road to collect the key and then back to our accommodation , the Meesters house that belonged to the school teacher . Braai number 4 was Burgers and Mushroom Sauce . The rooms all had low doors and small windows , felt like the turn of the century ! Ghosts ?
