Day 4 of #40daysofwarriorness! What can you do today? Yesterday morning I got to spend relaxing for a few. (Not often do I get to do this.) Sipping on my coffee, I flipped on the TV. One of my favorite movies was on, Knights Tale. (I am a nerd. I love Chaucer. Even took a class working on my masters totally dedicated to Chaucer.) I have watched it over a 100 times and still find a line that I havent heard before. Yesterday it wasnt a new line that captured my attention, but it was one that I have heard each and every time. The bad guy was speaking to the love interest about Heath Ledgers character. The bad guy comments how he keeps his eye on the prize. He never lowers his head. His eyes remain focused on his target. This shows strength. The love interest comments about his mercy. Still with all of his strength and focus, he has the ability to show mercy. The bad guy thinks this is a weakness. And, even though she doesnt say it, the love interest has a look in her eyes that she knows otherwise. Mercy is a strength beyond all physical strength. Mercy allows us to take our eyes beyond ourselves to show love and compassion for someone even when and if we dont know their situation. Mercy is a strength we should all desire. It is forgiveness and love and compassion and joy for another human being. Todays #40dayofwarriorness ~ show mercy for someone. Be the compassion, the love, the joy, and the forgiveness someone in your life needs.
