Day 4 of the Gratitude challenge. 1.Back in the 8th grade(At Salk) I had to take a elective class.I chose Photography with Mr.Liberman.He awoke the photographer in me.I had to learn darkroom techniques and use of lighting, basic photography stuff.I never got less than a A in his class(Even after I broke his wooden art thing doing light art with a bulb attachment(Gerard Jeronowitz was there also).This leads to the next thing Im Thankful for. 2.Back in the 80s I hung out at the old Route 1 Flea Market at Gene and Ron Hunter old store.After years of buying a lot of KISS stuff from them and Al Munson,I found out they were in a band called N.Y FURY.That one New Years Eve 1988 show at the Onstage got me hooked as a band photographer.The friendship and brotherhood with James Patrick Whipert and Nick Bellarosa Mike Dunleavy still stands today.Which leads to my next step.. 3.Waking up to see one of my photos being used by Russell Arcara was one thing that was cool.So I needed to hone the art of being a live band photographer.One Friday night I went to see Edger Cayce at Birch Hill.I asked if they would mind allowing me to take photos of them to get better.That friendship with Scott Metaxas Ken Dubman James T Callahan Michael Stx Sterlacci is pretty cool.I also Nominate Russel for the Gratitude challenge.Also Bridget Kenny Flynn whom was one of my first models in Salk.That was a easy A in taking photos of.
