Day 5: Friday, March 14 Your kingdom come, your will be done, - TopicsExpress

Day 5: Friday, March 14 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:10 ESV) When we pray we are about the business of aligning our heart to God’s plan and purpose. When we are young in the faith before someone has taught us to pray we may be overwhelmed with selfish prayers asking God for this thing or that thing that might make our life easier, but as we grow and as we follow the model prayer here laid out by Jesus we begin to focus on God’s purpose for our lives. We shift from an inward focus to a Godward focus. We come to God seeking His Kingdom. Jesus later in this passage says: “Therefore do not be anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or What shall we wear? For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:31-33 ESV). Give praise to God that He welcomes us into His Kingdom. Ask God for His Kingdom to come and seek His will for your community. Pray specifically for those people you know who are outside of the Kingdom of God today. Pray specifically for the Kingdom to come in your neighborhood, community and work place. Pray that people would turn to God in repentance and would begin seeking God’s will for their lives. Pray that revival starts in your community with you.
