Day 5 of 5 of the Gratitude Challenge. By now I figured I would be on to things that Im thankful for, but Im just *not* done being thankful for the people in my life, so that continues today..... 1. Im thankful for a bunch of awesome nieces and nephews. Theres a special feeling that you have for children of your siblings, a wonderful bond. Its so neat to celebrate their milestones and successes (from tooth fairy visits, to graduations, to marriages, to the birth of their children) and so important to pray through their struggles. Im thankful for Kaitlin, Kacey, Andrew, Melissa, Josh, Mitchell, Daniel, Nicholas, Austin, Nicole, Ryan, Erica, Amy, Kim, John, Lorelei, Abby, Phoenix, Nora, Sophie, Jared, Julia, Angela, and all of their children, as well as the children of my foster siblings. I wish you all the very best always. 2. Since knowledge and wisdom is so valuable, and something that can never be taken away, I value the great teachers I have had along the way. Ive had a lot of great teachers in many different capacities, but Id like to give a shout out to a few that have had a very big impact on my life. First, my dance teacher from age 3 to age 21, Miss Cindy. She taught me much more than just dance technique and posture. She taught life lessons, and Ill never forget the experiences she gave us at NYC dance conventions. She touched a lot of lives. Right, Michelle, Tara, Pam Stacie, Shelly? Secondly, a call out to two very important pastors, Ken and Karyn. Your teachings from the pulpit, from your emails, from conversations at the coffee house or your cozy offices have grown me tremendously. Thank you for your pastoral care. 3. Im thankful for my girl Mia. She was the absolute best dog a family could ever ask for and she was a big part of our family life for over 7 years. I still miss her presence every day (from her being my little shadow, to my running companion, to her obedience in never crossing the blue tape, to her nudging my elbow for attention when I was trying to work). I feel so blessed to have had her in our lives. On this last day of this 5 day challenge, I nominate Darren and Lisa today to post 3 things you are thankful for each day for 5 days. It can be silly things, or things like electricity, but may you be as blessed by the challenge as I have been in reflecting on what you are thankful for!
