Day 5 of my gratitude challenge: please dont take it personal if your name is not mentioned...some people run just a little deeper than others in my life. These 4 incredible women came into my life at different stages and each of them will forever be my Best Friends. #1 I am grateful to my 2 childhood Best Friends, Dawn Weinhofer and Jaclyn Kelley. MHS was the start of our friendships at a time when we were all lost and confused and it was a comfort knowing I had you both at my side no matter what. I am so grateful for you love and friendship and taking me into your families during holidays when I had no where else to go. I am so proud of both of you and the families you have created. Even though distance keeps us apart I know that we are still connected and could pick up right where we left off. #2 I am grateful for my college Best Friend, Nikki Yerkes. 17 years in the making. It has been a journey of ever lasting memories and hopefully more to come. We have seen the worst of each other and the best and somehow we manage to make it through no matter what. Through all my quarks, weird food likes and egg salad stealing our friendship has stood the test of time. It is so great now to see you as a mother of 2 amazing girls. I am so excited that we can share this experience together...you made me apart of your family very quickly and I will always be grateful for that. Now that I have a family of my own I know the importance of support and love which is what you and your family showed me. I know we cant see each other as often, but like I said before, that doesnt seem to change things, we always pick up where we left off. Love you. #3 I am grateful for my Sister-In-Law and Best Friend (I guess you could say post college) Melissa Powell. It amazed me how quickly we connected in this crazy family of ours. We both have a past that makes us who we are today. You have kept me grounded from the beginning allowing me to fall a few times but always there to pick me up and teach me the hard lesson. People think you are a hard ass but deep down inside you really care more than people think. You have had a huge impact on my life and the life of my children. I am grateful for conversations we have everyday whether it is a minute or 2 hours. I am grateful for the silence we have when on the phone, just put the phone on speaker and keep going, some times not even saying a word but knowing you are on the other end is a comfort. I am grateful for the guidance you have given with my children and helping me walk away from the edge sometimes. I am most grateful for the non-judgment...I know you dont always agree with what I do but I know you will support me no matter what. I am grateful to be apart of your family and that my children have another mom-mom (Martha) and aunt (Megan). Even though I dont always like it, I am grateful for the tough love and harsh truth that sometimes is needed but doesnt want to be heard. Thank you for always making sure your kids remember Aunt Audi and allowing me to feel important in their lives. Love you and hope our crazy world keeps turning together. I know it may be sappy and corny to some, but we dont always say what we want to say in person to the ones we love and for those that know me I say things best in writing. I love all my friends but we all know we have those few that touch our lives a little more....a quote I love It was by chance we met, by choice we became friends.
