Day 533 Erskine Hospital to Greenock. I woke several times through - TopicsExpress

Day 533 Erskine Hospital to Greenock. I woke several times through the night but I didnt wake till 08:40. Many People were walking past the bush I was in but no one knew I was there. I hurriedly packed had a brew at the shop across the way before setting off today. I headed back down to the Erskine bridge in the hope of finding a river walk way. I found one and carried along it. After an hour I eventually popped out next to the Erskine Hospital and couldnt work out how that was possible. It was now a road till I reached the dual carriageway the A8 which led into Port Glasgow. As I was walking through Port Glasgow I heard someone whistle. It was a lad called Jamie who had been following me online. He was on a bus to Greenock and had got off it when he saw me and asked if he could walk with me. We stopped for a brew and a quick snack at Pats snack van before setting off again. I followed the sea wall and soon come to a dead end on a building site. We had to trudge through deep sloppy mud which ruined Jamies boots but he said it didnt matter as it was an honour walking with me. When we arrived at Greenock he invited me to join him at a pub where his Dad was which I agreed. I sat on my berghan in a doorway having a cig before I went in to join them. While I was there 2 Bobbies on the beat came up and asked if I was okay, they were polite and I could tell they were genuinely concerned about my welfare. I told them I was happy except for my pains and explained what I was up to. The policemen were called Raymond and Kyle, they asked if I would still be in the pub for the next hour as theyd contact the local paper to get them to do an interview which I agreed. I thanked the guys and joined Jamie and his Dad for a drink inside. A short while later 2 girls turned up from the Greenock Telegraph. I did a quick interview and they got a couple of pictures. I stayed and chatted with Jamie for a couple of hours, hes a great guy and currently studying psychology at University. I then had to find somewhere to sleep. Lots of People had told me that Greenock was rough and not to sleep on the streets round here. I had only encountered kindness in the town and everyone I had met were really friendly. Besides its been a long time since I slept in a doorway as I had been in the middle of nowhere for so long. It didnt take too long before I found a doorway that was perfect. The British Heart Foundation doorway was deep and provided good shelter from the rain. I got into my sleeping bag and it didnt take long to drop off as Id had a couple of drams with Jamie in the pub. For most the day my right hip has been playing up and has caused me a lot of discomfort. I really cant wait to finish this madness now. Thanks for reading xxx
