Day 8 on our western trip. We got our moose!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually, we got three moose! We got up early, went to a place where we were told a moose might be. But nothing. After we gave up, and were driving back, Michael Raymen sighed, I guess we arent going to see any moose after all. About five minutes later, we saw a number of cars pulled off the side of the highway (always a good sign of an animal spotting). We looked for what they were spotting, and at the same time we both spotted it. Michael started to say, is that a..., and I was yelling, its a moose. We grabbed our camera equipment, followed parallel to the path the moose was taking, got some pictures and video, and finally started to come back to the car. We stopped to talk to someone and while we did another moose appeared. It was much further away, but still, two moose in one morning. Then we headed back to Jackson, and were wandering around the town square when a moose wandered right by us, maybe 10 feet away. My camera has been acting up this entire trip and will probably have to be replaced. I got one so-so picture on it, then decided to make a quick iPhone video. We then followed it for about 5 blocks before it disappeared. A park ranger was there right away making sure nobody got too close. I got some shots on my telephoto (different camera), hopefully some of those will turn out.
