Day 9 #wellnessquest Most days are caffeine free days for me except for today, the day I intended it to be, which is when I purposefully took something that, thanks to a friend pointing out, actually accidentally had caffeine in it. So... tomorrows quest became todays when I practiced 5 Minutes of Deep Breathing. This was perfectly soothing. As an Holistic Health Practitioner/Massage Therapist, thousands of people have taught me that the quality of the breath determines the depth of relaxation (or the level of held tension). Deep exhales, the kinds that allow deeper inhales to happen automatically in an almost opposite fashion of an anxiety symptom, create a physiological form of letting go, and elicit a deep relief. This seems obvious in words; however, it is always remarkable how giving conscious effort to the breath remedies the body physically, mentally, and emotionally. The choice to breathe with awareness seems to be a great gift.
