Day One 5/23/13 Thursday Day of Travel Traveling to your destination can be taxing at best, try to remember it is all about the journey. Most people dislike sitting in airports waiting and waiting and hoping their flights take off in time. I take a little different view of the whole experience. I try to come prepared with things to do. For me getting to the airport makes my trip a realization. It is a time of heightened excitement of the experiences to come. I suggest using your time in the airport and on the plane as a time to check over your itinerary and read up on all the places you are traveling to. If time allows enhance your experience by paying a little extra and going to the airport or airlines lounge. They often offer free beverages, snacks, showers, quiet areas, business areas, free internet and comfortable seating. I find either alone or in a group this enhances your traveling experience. I start my trip expecting a few bumps in the road but trying to remain flexible so that adjustments can be made with little disappointment. Our group of 7 chose to all met in Orlando and fly to Dublin together. This allowed us to enjoy the journey all together and cuts down on the possibilities of arriving to our destination at all different times. We met at Orlando airport in the Delta Lounge 3 hrs prior to our flight at 2:30 pm. This allowed us time to socialize and relax prior to our departure. We were all very excited and ready to start our new adventure. Our flight left on time which is always a plus. We had one layover in Atlanta for 2 hrs. We were fortunate to find a Delta lounge near our gate so that 2 hrs went very quickly. Our final flight to Dublin left again on time-no delays. We paid a little extra for economy comfort which gave us free drinks and extra leg room. Well worth it. Didn’t get a lot of sleep as we were to excited. We were able to enjoy a movie or two, dinner and breakfast and before we knew it the 7 or 8 hr flight to Dublin was over. We had arrived at 7:30 AM Friday morning 5/24/13.
