Day One: Guangzhou (South China): Just got off the 18 hour plane journey and was escorted to my solo exhibition to give a lecture, meet everyone all at once, and be treated like I was Picasso or something! =) Warmest, most gracious reception that I have ever had! I mean, it was totally crazy, it was like they had heard of me or something, like they thought I was famous? It was overwhelming and rad! I was followed around by beautiful Chinese women and asked to sign autographs, pose for pictures, meet the president of the University. Later, I was asked by the head of the art department to come teach both photography and philosophy for a year!!! Holy hell! I was and am still in shock. I am so grateful for this opportunity! I now need to spend a year or two learning Chinese, although I will still need a translator to effectively teach classes. What an incredible first day though, right? It keeps getting crazier and cooler from here.....
