Day Twenty-three Chad, Central Africa According to a lengthy Human Rights Report, Chad struggles with many human rights violations. The most noteworthy abuses include violence and prejudice against women and children, inhospitable prison environments, abuse by security forces and officials, government corruption, child abuse, and human trafficking. Pray for the government to address and resolve these troubling issues. Ask the Lord to protect the women and children in Chad from violence and abuse. Pray for Christian Believers to proclaim the Gospel in Chad (The Bible, Psalm 10:17-18). Algeria, North Africa In the oil-rich southern region of Algeria, people find it hard to make enough money to buy food. Many blame al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb or AQIM for their problems. The Islamic Maghreb is the militant outfit that attacked the oil/gas plant that killed 38 foreign workers in January 2013. Pray against the Islamic Maghreb that is causing terror in southern Algeria. Pray that more jobs would be created for the local Algerian people. Pray for Christian Believers in the north to take the Good News of Jesus Christ to those in the south (The Bible, Matthew 11:5).
