Day Whatever, Melbourne, my life. Halfway through a Sunday which was identical in every way to being halfway across the Hume Highway, or halfway through Dante’s wilderness, or halfway through a bottle of PAVAN Liquer de France, whose name means ‘dance of the peacock’…… having so far spent the day asking ‘are we there yet’ (by ‘there’ meaning ‘heaven’ and by ‘heaven’ not necessarily meaning a place where Depeche Mode and Space Lord play on repeat)……one finds oneself……yes One…who didn’t just get up off their knees when they were learning to walk, but did a yoga stretch on the way up…One finds oneself with no one to play with but oneself…and one black kitten in an inflatable blue velvet collar who resembles a circus bear in a David Lynch movie. And for a moment, in the middle of a kitten meditation, one’s life takes on meaning…..until that is, until Heaven’s props and grandiose ideas - such as the idea of filming ‘A Moving Line in Paul Klee’ from the spectacle of a worm crawling on an IKEA tablecloth – intervene……in the same way as the sounds of neighbourhood laughter or vomit might intervene on Sunday stillness distilled into an art nouveau bottle.
