For those rebuilding and/or doing additions in climate zones with live loads that happen due to snow and all the more reason to make sure your contractor is getting proper permits and submitting plans. This is your protection against stuff like this, you can always check on the current load requirements through the town office by making a phone call. Or, you can have a reputable expediting company like D&I Expediting help with the process. It seems the husband in this home was outside shoveling and his wife was inside at the time. Luckily there were no injuries.
