Day and night - Here I played with different techniques and aimed to create a painting dominated by two colours. The first photo shows the whole painting, the other three photos show parts of the painting. The theme of the painting is the game between day and night - the light of the day on the left is taken over by the darker colours of the night from the right. Although the night covers more of the painting, the day still dominates through its bright colours. The aim was to make a very simple painting (that is purely based on colour rather on shapes) interesting, to provoke the eye and to involve the viewer. There are many layers to create hidden shapes that (hopefully) cause the viewer to interact - that is to start seeing different things, may it be landscapes, animals or people. It is not evident WHAT is shown in the day/night sections and exactly this is what this painting aims for - it is a hymn to the imagination of the viewer.
