Day before yesterday Marine Drive, Cochin witnessed a spark…a spark which will turn into a wildfire pretty soon…hot enough to burn off the regressive ideologies of moral policing and fascism from the Indian soil. It was the first step towards a movement which will see success pretty soon. Let’s take this LIPS (liberal intellectual progressive socialists) movement forward…until a day comes, when all the liberals, progressives, rationalists, feminists, communists, socialists, secularists, humanists and every other common man who believes in individual freedom, liberal ideas, equality, fair justice and democracy gathers under a single flag to fight against the anti social ‘protectors of culture’. No revolution has ever been won in a swing of the clock. It may take days or even months…but definitely we will succeed and a day will come, when the future generations will thank us for removing all poisonous thorns from their path. ‘Kiss of Love’ was a protest by peaceful people. When peace is ignored, it will lead to a revolution led by blood thirsty mad men. Every revolution starts with peaceful talks and discussions, in a hope to settle things down like mature human beings. When such talks are ignored, it will give way to peaceful protests. And finally when cornered to the wall and left with no other option, the peaceful protests will turn into violent revolutions. For proofs, check history! (PS: When left with no other option but to protect oneself (or a good cause), violence is acceptable. And in such cases, violence is not called violence…but self defense. And as far as I know, every human being is entitled with the basic right of self defense). I sincerely hope that the self proclaimed guardians of culture show enough sense to not test the patience of the public and provoke them into taking up sticks and stones against moral policing (maybe it’s foolish of me to expect so much sense from those senseless idiots). Hope peaceful protests will succeed and no blood ever stains our society (even though I personally would love to see some sanghis and sudapis limping away, rubbing their broken backs). Long live revolution! Long live my mother land! And long live the ideas of individual freedom, equality, peace, liberty and humanism in this beautiful land… Best wishes to all my unknown comrades and friends who showed the courage to stand up against moral policing, by supporting the Kiss of Love event.
