Day two of my gratitude challenge. I am thankful for the word of God. An inerrant book totally inspired by God written over 1500 of years through 40 different men (kings, poets, philosophers, shepherd, fisherman) that fits together perfectly. Several prophesies have been fulfilled and many more are coming to pass. Its how God speaks to His people; it is powerful, it is truth and wisdom and Jesus is the word made flesh. Secondly I am thankful for my daughter Laura; my one and only child. When she was little she was very shy always hiding behind me burying her face in my leg. She was very content and very well behaved child and enjoyed the simple things in life. Oh weve bucked heads a few times when she was older but overall we have a good relationship. I didnt have a lot of money but it never stopped us from doing things together. My prayer for her has always been that first she would love and serve the Lord. I am proud of her and love her very much. I know she has had to face much adversity in her life lately but I know God is pruning and refining her and its a delight to see her grow. And lastly I am thankful for people that are compassionate; God made each of us unique and we all have different personalities and gifts; wouldnt life be boring if he made us all the same? While I believe we should all have compassion there are some that are more gifted in this area. Many times these are the people who are rarely noticed (by man) giving selflessly of their time, money, prayers and hearts. The compassionate person is glorifying God because they are demonstrating the love of Christ.
