Day with Dad...one think we have in common...LOVE OF BOOKS. Dad - TopicsExpress

Day with Dad...one think we have in common...LOVE OF BOOKS. Dad went into Barnes and Noble specifically to get the BIG Ancient Egypt book which hed flipped through last week. I gave it a browse today and decided I wanted one, too. The pictures below are the other books I picked up for myself. We ate lunch at very big, very good Chinese Buffet at 21st and Garnet. I tried to restrain myself, seriously. However, when we returned the Nursing House, one of the dear, old, dilapidated, demented ladies in a wheelchair stopped me in the hall to inquire, when my baby was due. Even shocked as I was, (!), I told her, Oh, honey I couldnt have a baby even if I wanted, too, Im 54 years old! To which she replied, Oh! I am SO sorry! I was just looking at you from sideways....ahhh, ok. When I told Ralph and Dad what had just occurred...Ralph asked me, Was it one those ding-a-lings? I said Yes...most certainly a ding-a-ling!! Ha! Then, Ralph (aka) Methuselah, says, Well...Youre looking pretty good to me. Which was adorable in its own twisted way...so I thanked him profusely. I am very happy to report that the 2 old men in Dads room (Dad and Ralph) have fallen in love with Snuggles the fabulous cat. Dad refers to himself as Daddy when petting and interacting with her. I sat for 10 minutes and listened to Snuggles stories. I found it sweet and heartwarming, indeed! I have to tell my siblings, Nellie Hunt Conley, Cyndy Cornelius, and Danny Hunt and also Virginia Eubanks Hunt that Dad looked so tired when I got there this morning, I questioned even taking him out. He said hed ,been real tired for the last few days. FYI. We had a great sweet day...even driving WAY out on 21st to the Tam Bao Buddhist Temple and park. In the middle of the gardens, amidst many other statues and beautiful carvings stands the glorious 57 (I think) foot tall Quan Yin. She is something to behold. After that, we drove next door to view the Hindu Temple (from outside). The Hindu have some amazing, fascinating stone carvings, too. Up around their temple rooftop. We have already planned next Wednesdays adventure...mani/pedis after lunch! I was doubtful that Dad would take to the idea, but when I asked him how the plan sounded, he said, enthusiastically, that he thought it sounded great! I hope hes feeling stronger next week. I am telling myself there will be good days and bad days. Today was a tired, draggy day. We are also in the process of answering the hundreds of questions (very clever questions) in his book, The Story of a Lifetime. He really enjoys the questions...and I am learning things that Im glad and interested to know, but never thought to ask. And, that was my day (our day) this weeks Wednesday! Namaste.
