According to the latest data from the Department of Housing and Urban Development American Housing Survey (AHS), the median age of an owner-occupied home in the United States was 35 years old as of the 2011 survey. The median age reported in the 1985 AHS was only 23 years old. You know how much you have to do around your house to keep it up... Then imagine if your house was 184 years old... We at The Pillars (1828) are continuing our efforts to keep the town home of John Houston Bills from returning to nature... LOL. It is a continuous effort, but well worth the time and money to keep such a jewel for future members and visitors. The rich history of the Bills family and Hardeman County need places like this to take people back to that time in history, so we can all understand it better.
