Days # 7 & 8 ( I realize I am behind, so after more keyboard malfunctions on my phone, decided to wait to use the desktop!) After listening to the news about ISIS and Ebola, I thought again about how our time here might be so short, and as I was driving to the church today, began to think and have illustrated to me, all the privileges we have, and how much we have to be thankful for. So, among many thoughts, here are some of mine. 1. I am thankful for communications and communications equipment: televisions that allow us to see the things that are going on in our world. Radios that allow us to hear what is going on in our world. Telephones that enable us to hear someones voice:landlines, cell phones that allow us to have communication ( most of the time) away from home if we should get stuck somewhere, or need help. Social Media, while getting blasted for many reasons, has been a wonderful thing for many. The list goes on. 2. I am thankful for employees like Dennis at Taco Bell, who for as long as I have seen him at that restaurant, has been friendly and kind, with a smile on his face. We havent even been there frequently any more, as we moved farther away, yet he remembers us. This is what a difference one person can make... A smile and a kind word... 3. I am thankful for the people who repair the roads. I know it sometimes inconveniences us, but it is so nice to see that they are working, and it is hard work. They have to put up with so many complaints! And, by the way, among other repairs, thank you for fixing the big bump along Division in Richmond. It is SO much better! 4. I am thankful for the many people in my life, old friends, new friends, etc... who have added so much joy. Just knowing you has added joy and fullness that I might never have had otherwise! 5. I am thankful that we can move around freely, and worship freely here in the United States so far. 6. I am thankful that we have a God who loves and cares for us youtube/watch?v=f4whBsh9ovI
