Days of Praise Born n2 GODs Family by: Henry M. Morris, Ph.D. | Aug 20, 2014 “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of GOD: there4 the world knoweth us not, b/c it knew him not.” ( I Jn 3:1 ) 1 of the most motivating truths of the Bible is the doctrine that we become sons of GOD when we r born again thru faith in Christ. GOD then deals w/us as a father does w/his beloved children. We should there4 respond as obedient children who love their father. The little epistle of I John has many references 2 this relationship/R consequent responsibilities. In the 1st place, “ye know that every 1 that doeth righteousness is born of him” ( 2:29 ). “Whosoever is born of GOD doth not [ habitually ] commit sin; 4 his seed remaineth in him: nd he cannot sin, b/c hes born of GOD” ( 3:9 ). Another attribute of R sonship is brotherly love: “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of GOD: nd every 1 that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him” ( 5:1 ). “Every 1 that loveth is born of GOD, nd knoweth GOD” ( 4:7 ). Furthermore, each child of GOD should have a victorious faith. “4 whatsoever is born of GOD overcometh the world: nd this is the victory that overcometh the world, even R faith” ( 5:4 ). All who are truly sons of GOD will never lose that holy relationship. “He thats begotten of GOD keepeth himself, nd that wicked 1 toucheth him not” ( 5:18 ). This is b/c of the fact that “greater is he that is in [ us ], than he thats in the world” ( 4:4 ). There r many such references in the Bible. All stress that we should reflect the character of the Father in R lives as His children. The glorious, ultimate promise is this: “Beloved, now r we the sons of GOD, nd it doth not yet appear what we shall b: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall b like him; 4 we shall see him as he is” ( 3:2 ).
