Days of Praise Dead 2 Sin--Alive Un2 GOD by: Henry M. Morris, Ph.D. | Aug 23, 2014 “4 I thru the law m DEAD 2 the law, that I might live UN2 GOD. I m crucified w/Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: nd the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of GOD, who loved me, nd gave himself 4 me.” ( Gal 2:19, 20 ) 1 of the greatest doctrinal truths of the Bible is that the Christian life is 1 of victory over SIN. The law of GOD has condemned us as lawbreakers ( Jas 2:10 ), but Christ died 4 R Sins, nd “ye also r become DEAD 2 the law by the body of Christ” ( Rom 7:4 ). We should live in victory over SIN, but somehow we still stumble. “If we say that we have no SIN, we deceive Rselves, nd the truths not in us.” The remedy 4 such lapses is at hand, of course. “If we confess R Sins, hes faithful/just 2 4give us R Sins, nd 2 cleanse us from all unrighteousness” ( I Jn 1:8, 9 ). Nevertheless, if Christ is really living in us by His Spirit, if we have really been born again, then we cannot continue 2 live in SIN. “How shall we, that are DEAD 2 SIN, live any longer therein ?” ( Rom 6:2 ). “Knowing this, that R old man is crucified w/him, that the body of SIN might be destroyed, that hence4th we should not serve SIN. 4 he that is DEAD is freed from SIN” ( vv. 6, 7 ). The secret 2 making this doctrine practical reality in R lives is simply the motivation of gratitude. In the words of 2days passage, “the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of GOD, who loved me, nd gave himself 4 me.” We already have the necessary resources: 4giveness, freedom from guilt, eternal life, nd the indwelling Spirit of Christ. We must simply avail Rselves of His power, b/c He loved/saved us. “Reckon ye also urselves 2 b DEAD indeed UN2 SIN, but ALIVE UN2 GOD thru Jesus Christ R Lord” ( Rom 6:11 ). HMM
