The Altima might seem a bit low in the power department but with the Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission, Nissan thinks the 2013 Altima will net 38 MPG on the highway making it one of the most fuel efficient sedans on the road. The other engine choice is a 3.5 liter V-6 that produces 270 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque. Driving dynamics are much improved as the rear suspension now consists of a multilink setup based on the 370Z sports car. The ZF Sachs shock absorbers are more commonly found on high end luxury cars from Europe. The 2013 Nissan Altima has a trick Active Understeer Control System which keeps the driver in control. Understeer is eliminated by the computer as brake pressure is applied to the inside wheel automatically. The Nissan Altima comes loaded with a bunch of standard features. The seats have been redesigned and test to improve posture and reduce fatigue. There is an Advanced Display which makes it easy for the driver to get vehicle information and navigation instructions.
